About
I am a Singapore-based private SPED tutor, autism educator, computer repair specialist, and natural-light analogue photographer.
My work brings together three long-standing areas of experience: autism-informed education, practical technical problem-solving, and visual communication. I support autistic and dyslexic learners through structured, literal, low-pressure teaching, while also offering practical computer repair support and photography services grounded in patience, observation, and detail.
I hold a Diploma in Counselling Skills, multiple Special Needs and neurodevelopment-related CPD certificates, and a LanguageCert UK International ESOL SELT C2 certificate with High Pass. I also bring lived experience as a diagnosed Level 2 autistic adult, which informs the way I understand communication, sensory needs, learning differences, shutdowns, rigid thinking, demand avoidance, and the importance of clarity.
My approach is direct, patient, and practical. I do not believe in forcing learners into methods that clearly do not work for their brains. Instead, I focus on building reliable systems, reducing unnecessary pressure, and helping each person learn in a way that is realistic for them.
What I Do
Autism-Informed Private Tutoring
I provide 1-to-1 tutoring for autistic learners, including students who may also have dyslexia, language delays, working memory difficulties, shutdowns, anxiety, or difficulty with conventional classroom expectations.
My teaching style is structured, explicit, and low-assumption. I avoid relying on vague instructions such as “try harder,” “pay attention,” or “just practise more,” because these do not explain what the learner is supposed to do next.
Instead, I break learning down into clear steps, repeat concepts patiently, and adjust the pace according to the student’s processing ability.
Areas I may support include:
- English reading and phonics
- Dyslexia-aware literacy support
- Pronunciation and spoken English
- Basic writing and sentence structure
- Learning routines and task completion
- Autism-informed communication support
- Parent-facing explanations of learning needs and accommodations
My tutoring is especially suited for learners who need patience, predictability, repetition, and direct instruction.
Autism Education and Advocacy
I write and speak about autism from both a professional learning background and lived experience perspective.
My focus is practical, not performative. I am especially interested in explaining autistic needs in plain language so that parents, educators, and support workers can better understand what may actually be happening behind behaviour.
Topics I may cover include:
- Autistic communication differences
- Literal thinking
- Shutdowns and overwhelm
- Sensory overload
- Demand avoidance
- Dyslexia and autism overlap
- Why “behaviour” is often a communication signal
- How to support autistic learners without escalating distress
I believe autism support should be based on accuracy, respect, and realistic expectations — not guessing, moralising, or forcing compliance for the sake of appearances.
Computer Repair and Technical Support
I have more than 28 years of hands-on computer repair experience, beginning from childhood (when I was 8) and extending into paid support work, including support for corporate clients.
My technical background includes practical troubleshooting, repair, setup, maintenance, and user support. I am especially comfortable explaining technical problems in clear language for people who may feel overwhelmed by computers.
Computer repair is not just about knowing which part failed. It is also about asking the right questions, narrowing down the problem logically, and explaining the solution without making the customer feel stupid.
Areas may include:
- Desktop and laptop troubleshooting
- Windows support
- Some Linux support (Ubuntu)
- Hardware diagnosis
- PC cleaning and maintenance
- Software setup
- Remote support where appropriate
- Practical advice before repair or replacement
- etc.
My style is straightforward: I tell you what is likely wrong, what can be done, what is worth spending money on, and what is not worth repairing. No mystical IT wizard smoke. Just diagnosis, explanation, and practical next steps.
Natural-Light Analogue/Film Photography
I have 19 years of photography experience, with a strong interest in film photography and natural-light portraiture. It is one of my special interests.
My photography style is observational, calm, and detail-focused. I prefer natural light, real expressions, and images that feel honest rather than overly artificial. I focus on portrait work.
Analogue photography has shaped the way I see the world: slower, more deliberate, and more attentive to timing. Film does not reward rushing. Neither do people.
This background also influences my education and support work. Photography trains patience, observation, and sensitivity to small details — the same qualities needed when working with autistic learners and neurodivergent people.
My Approach
Across all my work, whether I am teaching, repairing a computer, writing about autism, or taking photographs, my approach is built around clarity.
I value:
- clear communication
- step-by-step explanations
- practical problem-solving
- respect for individual differences
- patience with processing time
- honesty about what can and cannot be done
- realistic support rather than empty encouragement
I work best with people who appreciate directness, accuracy, and thoughtful explanation.
For tutoring and autism-related work, I do not treat autistic traits as laziness, rudeness, defiance, or lack of effort. I look at the task demands, sensory load, communication expectations, processing requirements, and emotional safety of the learner.
For technical support, I do not overcomplicate problems to sound impressive. I explain what I am doing and why.
For photography, I aim to create images that feel natural and human.
Different fields, same principle: observe carefully, reduce noise, solve the real problem.

Professional Identity
I work as an individual practitioner, combining lived experience, formal training, and practical skill.
My background is unusual, but that is also its strength. I am not coming from only one angle. I understand education, autism, technology, communication, and visual presentation as connected parts of real life.
Many people do not fit neatly into one category. Neither do their problems. A child struggling to read may also be overwhelmed by sound, unclear instructions, working memory load, shame, or fear of being wrong. A computer problem may also be a communication problem if the user does not understand what is happening. A photograph may succeed or fail based on whether the person feels safe enough to be seen.
That is why my work is careful, literal, and person-centred.
I aim to make things clearer, calmer, and more workable.
